Prep Classrooms & Covered Walkways
New prep classrooms with kitchens, a covered lunch area, a new school entry and covered walkways to meet the disability access code, delivered in four months.
We removed the existing prep buildings and built new prep classrooms with kitchens, a new undercover lunch area, a new entry to the school and covered walkways that meet the disability access code. The project was completed in January 2020, four months from start to finish.
Construction
The classrooms are lightweight construction, while the covered walkways use architectural structural steel. Ramps, handrails and level transitions were detailed to meet accessibility requirements across the whole route.
A classroom in three weeks
For the same College we also built a new classroom under an existing open balcony, using steel portal frames and lightweight steel framing. It was started and finished in three weeks during the school holidays, so not a single lesson was disrupted.
